    2. AIUS acquires California Southern University, which becomes part of the System

    2. The American InterContinental University System (AIUS or System) is established, initially comprised of AIU and Trident

    2. Trident University International, originally known as Touro University International (“TUI”), is established by Dr. Yoram Neumann as a 100 % online branch campus of Touro College, a New York not-for-profit educational corporation
    1. AIU is renamed American InterContinental University
    1. An AIU campus, named The American University in Dubai, is added in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The Dubai location later obtained separate accreditation with SACS and discontinued its affiliation with AIU in 2007

    1. California Southern University, then known as Southern California University for Professional Studies, is founded by Dr. Donald Hecht
    2. The Lucerne campus moves to London, England (sold 2014), and is renamed The American College in London
